Is it spring time yet?

Missoula dismisses for summer in about two weeks, at which point in time we will get many new staff members. Bummer for them, as the Polebridge area still looks like this. Hahah... Rough.

Lone canoe on flathead in a wind storm. Kind of scary.

North Fork by the numbers:

Well, snowy-rainy-slush continues to clog all but the lowest valley bottoms, and the north fork has mostly been high fast and murky. As a result hiking has been hard to come by and I have yet to even attempt to fish. With that said, boredom has not been an issue. Here are the numbers from my time thus far on the North Fork.

Children educated- 80 (debatable)
Showers taken-3
Bobcats seen- 1
Lynx seen-1
Hours a day I have access to electricity-1
Ranch dirt bikes ridden-2
Bar fights parteaken in- 1/2
Squirrels shot-4
Squirrel hides skinned and tanned- 3
Hills longboarded-2
Hippies encountered- 25
Crazed militant backwoods rednecks encountered- 50
Cars stuck in snow- 3
Ghosts seen-1
Bow staffs whittled- 4
Ticks discovered on myself-11
Windows broken-1
Dollars won in poker-19
Laundry loads finished-0
Near death chossy free solos-2

North Fork to McDonald

Springbreak at the U of M happened to to coincide with Sarah's 21st birthday. As a result we went on some very cool adventures, Sarah didn't fair well on tequila shots, and I almost got knifed after a small political discourse with a fellow bar patron.... Happy Birthday!

Perhaps the highlight though was a bike over Camas road, from the North Fork to Apgar. In the grand wisdom of the park service this road is plowed and clear, yet still not open. Perfect for some neat winter road biking... that we did on mountain bikes... not as neat.

Ya down with GNP? ...Yeah, you know me!

Setting up the teepee. Much respect to Native American woman. This was way harder than I imagined.

View from the inside.

Woodpile lawnchair in the rare spring sunshine.

Big Creek!
